Embracing The 2016 Pantone Colors

The interior designers at our furniture showroom in Brookfield work to find the perfect blend of current trends with timeless styles to deliver spaces that beckon within your home. You’ve probably heard the phrase “Pantone Color of the Year” before. If you haven’t, it’s quite a simple concept.

Each year, Pantone analyzes the world’s culture to determine a color that best depicts the mood and attitude. It’s a symbolic representation of what’s taking place, and is a great way to unify people everywhere.

This year, for the first time since its start in the year 2000, Pantone selected two colors – Rose Quarts and Serenity – as the Colors of the Year. Rose Quartz is described as “a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure.” Serenity serves as a complement to that, and is described as “weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us…bringing feelings of relaxation and respite even in turbulent times.” (source: Pantone)

These two colors serve as a reminder of the depiction of order and peace. As more and more people look to color as a form of expression, the introduction of Rose Quartz and Serenity challenge traditional perceptions of the use of color. The warmth of traditionally feminine rose tones blending with the coolness of traditionally masculine pale blue creates a reassuring embrace.

Our interior designers are thrilled to incorporate trending colors into our clients’ homes. Whether through gorgeous pillow fabrics or unique accessories, simple changes can transform a space and keep it up to date.
