July Style Report: Nouveau Japanesism with Century

Our Milwaukee interior designers are thrilled about the bright and fun styles associated with spring and summertime. At Warren Barnett Interiors, we work to create timeless spaces filled with pieces of lasting quality. Century Furniture has introduced a handful of stunning new pieces available in gorgeous finishes and fabrics.

This month, we’re loving the style known as “Nouveau Japanesism,” which features calming blues and lovely floral inspired patterns. Here’s a bit of info about the style as told by Century Furniture.

Looking back through centuries of design, furniture has always paid homage to Asian influences. This market, we are again being inspired by the far east. Infused with modern geometrics and colorful finishes, the look is fresh and bold. Driven from the rich Japanese landscape shown on a statement silk fabric, Century pulls in a mixture of blues and accents them with punches of red. In Japanese culture, red is a powerful color that symbolizes passion, power and excitement. It also signifies the sun and is associated with life, vitality and energy. As an accent in a sea of calmer blues, red becomes the synergy and pulse of this look giving us all a reason to say “Konnichiwa!”

The modern silhouettes in combination with luxurious finishes make for a unique look that’s sure to complement any space. Whether you’re looking for a single piece or many, this style is definitely one to consider!
